After YEARS of trying to get a pair of seats to the Bristol night race, my wonderful wife handed me two of them this morning for my birthday!

I was planning on sitting in a recliner and watching the Sharpie 500 this weekend... looks like my plans just changed! Might be a good time to get the Roush Mustang out of the storage area and take her for a ride!

How much does it cost for an Open Wheel Modified Race car, new.

Great question that many newcomers to auto racing ask themselves all the time, How much is the race car going to cost me! There are so many variables that fall into this question, it is literally impossible to give a straight answer!

If you have been around the sport for a few years, chances are pretty good that you know someone who might be selling their Modified already! I know anytime I used to race up at Stafford Ct, there was always at least one modified race car that had a for sale sign on it! Your best best it to start making friends now with these guys and they will tell you.

I know you asked about a new modified, but have you considered buying a used one first? eBay is a great place to find a race car for sale and they usually have several modifieds in the selection. The end of summer is the best time to start looking as most of the teams who have decided to move up are selling their cars at that time.

This past weekend at the Brickyard 400, NASCAR saw hundreds of these tires get shredded to bits on the race track! All at a huge cost to the teams...

43 Race Cars started the race on Sunday in a race that was actually horrible! The resulting 11 cautions saw 43 cars change a total of 1892 tires, not counting those that had to change at other times! Lets put that into an economic perspective...

559 sets of tires, or $1,006,200.00 JUST IN RACING TIRES!
